PLAYBACK
The Diesis Neptune Audio Player is developed from a GNU/Linux kernel, in which we have integrated the universally recognized Music Player Daemon (MPD) for its power and extraordinary audio playback qualities. This modified player allows for local playback and streaming of audio streams, enabling streaming of Qobuz FLAC files (available by subscription). The Diesis-mpd configuration [1] has been developed to control the output of the DAO [2], so you can choose between the internal DAC, external USB DAC, or HDMI output for all the new generations of the best amplifiers, including multi-channel amplifiers with DAC. This add-on allows for managing the audio output to an external DAC from the GNU/Linux kernel and is compatible with the majority of USB DACs on the market. The choice of our integrated DAC (2) M2 Tech Young DSD, high-resolution DAC capable of handling up to PCM and DSD 384/32 up to x128, has been customized exclusively for Diesis Audio, and in addition to being modified according to our specifications, the analog output section is powered by a sophisticated linear power supply with the possibility of choosing between inductive or capacitive power.
MANAGEMENT
Based on a well-known graphical realization known for its flexibility and the ability to manage the artist library, Diesis Audio has adapted an interface that allows the user to manage and control the player with functions of comfort and flexibility for all types of data: artist, genre, album, year, playlists, etc. The integration of this interface also allows for video playback up to native 4K resolution and guarantees compatibility with applications from other parties such as Qobuz, YouTube, radio, and more. The Diesis remote repository was created to download many add-ons and extensions. This type of interface allows controlling the player from different remote access points: wireless remote control, web page, UPnP implementation, Android or iOS tablet, and others. A specific theme has been developed for audio control, capable of controlling the player from the integrated display or external displays like TVs, projectors, or AV amplifiers connected to the external HDMI port. The screen displays can be used simultaneously or independently.
CONTROL
The NEPTUNE Player has a network application specifically developed to configure and integrate it into a local network. It can be used either locally or in server mode, allowing you to share files through UPnP or the web server of an internal antenna for wireless terminal access integrated into the player. This is independent with the active antenna when the player is integrated into the local network and has an internet connection. This connection allows users connected to this internal wireless device to access the Internet as if the player was creating a wireless bridge.
HARDWARE
The NEPTUNE DIESIS Player has an internal 1080p screen and an HDMI output for an external display with resolution up to native 4K. This output is for viewing and controlling player files and requires an additional external display. The output is configurable for listening on another unit or USB DAC. The player has a network input (1GB LAN RJ45), 3 or 4 external USB slots for external DACs or hard drives, and wireless remote control. Diesis Neptune creates a private network for remote software with the remote (Tablet / Smartphone or web page) and has an AP (access point and router) for sharing and internet connection. The wireless remote is used for the player, and it has a CD function for an external player connected to a USB port with a choice of codecs and retrieval of artist tags, album, and song title (if the CD is recognized and the player connected to the Internet). 2TB internal hard drive.
The NEPTUNE is powered by an external power supply made without any compromise. Reinforced, filtered, and stabilized, it was developed specifically according to DIESIS AUDIO’s specifications. The separate external power supplies for the player, DAC, and Hard Disc are completely independent, and this model is equipped with an inductive power supply designed exclusively for the DAC. The input synergy towards the DAC and the oversampling allow for an exceptionally low background noise and THD. An analog high-resolution volume control IC with digital control is used. To avoid inserting additional components on the signal path that would reduce sound quality, a single passive anti-alias filter is used instead of the usual opamp buffer.
The output voltage can be set by the user to suit the needs of any downstream DSD DAC, whether it be a preamplifier, a high-sensitivity solid-state power amplifier, or a balanced and single-ended valve power amplifier.
